  1. Hello, I currently have a Berlebach UNI 28 tripod for my Vixen GP and GPDX equatorial heads. I would like to put a Rowan AZ100 on this tripod, but the Rowan has an NEQ6 fitting. Does anyone make an adaptor that would allow me to do this ?
  2. Oh yes, very nice πŸ‘ Limb darkening looks fine to me.
  3. @neil phillips - If you continue to use that scope on the EQ5 I may report you to the RSPCEQM πŸ˜‚
  4. Clouded out here so thanks for sharing πŸ‘
  5. The planets are getting there, slowly…………
  6. Apologies - you do have the original Vixen setup not the modified one
  7. That entire plate is a modification by Astro Systems of Bedford (Rob Miller). It makes the mount stronger and sturdier than as supplied by Vixen. The black knob is for adjustment.
  8. Why do you want to remove the stars? In my opinion the images with the stars look far better πŸ™‚
  9. Hello Chris, a good 12” Dob would be the way to go for DSO’s - they are great on the planets too. Skywatcher Dobs are good but heavy, Orion Optics make great mirrors and are a little lighter.
  10. With a rear mounted fan a 10” Newt will cool significantly faster than a C9.25 and is significantly cheaper too
  11. Are you happy with the weight that you will have to move - significant even with long handles ?
  12. Brilliant - I have been many times to Florida but always on business and never got to see a launch πŸ˜”
  13. As others have said, looks like an old Russian TAL, should have great optics πŸ‘
  14. Orion Optics Dobs are much lighter than the far eastern ones.
  15. Great idea, the best planetary scope I had was a 10” Dob πŸ‘ It will certainly outperform a 120mm refractor.
  16. So far ….. Skywatcher 120ED TS 115 triplet And how about an OO 6” F/5 Newt 1/10th wave - 4.5kgs
