  1. You should do the lottery now 😂👍
  2. Spot on and I’m thankful for the fine, fair, discount, Tes, Co, operates 🙂
  3. Excellent drawings, I was out at the same time and saw exactly the same as you have drawn 👍
  4. Nice, in a Meccano sort of way 😂
  5. It’s been clear here this afternoon so I took my 4” refractor out at 4:15pm to cool down to look at Saturn and Jupiter. Got togged up and went out at 4:35pm to start viewing and within 5 minutes I had 100% cloud cover. 🤷🏻🙁 That’s the good thing about 4” refractors, they can be put out and brought back in quickly 👍 Time for 🍷🍷
  6. Excellent 👍 Have you thought about using Binoviewers ?
  7. Sadly there may be no such thing as a single solution - or have I been missing it for the last 40 years ? 😂
  8. Here is my suggestion….. This for grab and go….. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/scopetech-telescopes/starbase-80-refractor-and-mount-package.html And this for serious detail on the planets… but it’s a superb allrounder too. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/stellalyra-telescopes/stellalyra-8-f6-dobsonian.html And well under your budget 👍
  9. @Westmoorland Try wrapping the OTA with 2 layers of reflectix from B&Q 👍
  10. Hmmm, he says free of wear or damage and has hardly been used but the dewshield, finder and OTA all shows signs of paint chips 🤷🏻 The back story also sounds similar to a UKastrobuysell advert last year. Caveat Emptor.
  11. Another option @MiladyB is this “folded refractor” https://www.firstlightoptics.com/maksutov/skywatcher-skymax-127-ota.html I know it’s not what you asked for but it’s very small and has APO performance and will probably fit straight onto your tripod.
  12. Hello @Nitecoda and welcome to SGL. You are doing all the right things 👍 Do let us know when we can spend your money on a telescope 😂
  13. How about this…… https://www.firstlightoptics.com/scopetech-telescopes/starbase-80-refractor-and-mount-package.html
  14. 😱😱😱😱😱😱 Throttling down all that beautiful Fluorite performance to just 50mm should be against the law 😂 (but I’m waiting for your writeup……….🙂)
  15. SNAP My FS128 on a Vixen GPDX and Berlebach UNI28 Tripod 🙂 Made in 1998 and still going strong 👍
  16. @tim r “Shed conversation starting” I thought you had lost the plot and started talking to your shed - too many cloudy nights can do that 😂 Nice build 👍
  17. Maybe - but it’s less than the price of a new Tak 4” F/8 Fluorite doublet. Just for clarity - it’s not mine.
  18. @geoflewis Which software/apps are you using for the jet stream forecasts please ? They look very useful
