99p obsy & pier

My guess is because of the warm room the seller liked to dabble in imaging. With this in mind there is probably a ton of ballast holding the pier in the ground so the only way your going to remove the pier is by lopping it off at the base. The trouble then is your going to either have to weld a substantial sized steel plate to the bottom (if it is a steel pier?) or loose 2'-3' off the height of the pier sinking it in the ground again.

Moving home is stressful so it would appear to me that the seller wants someone else to pay for the hassle of getting rid for him. I just don't see any value in the auction even at 99p because it would cost more in time and van / stihl saw / kango hire to remove the shed and pier. I'd also like to bet it wouldn't be long before the winning bidder wanted to put more money in to it changing the roof to a roll off design on top of having to preserve the wood and no doubt replace a bunch of rusty nails / screws.

As said above... With the amount of work and Hassel and costs I reckon you would be left thinking why didn't I just start from scratch myself.

If your only after the pier or thinking bout just that why not throw a message over to the seller see if he let it go on its own, but make sure you go look at it to see if its worthwhile still before you commit to taking it.

You don't want to end up taking away a 5 tonne lump of concrete with a little piece drainpipe sticking out of it :)

By the look of the photos, that observatory does not have much more life left in it. If you look at the photos of the open roof photos then the edges are very rough and crumbly. In the other photos you can see daylight through the shiplap which implies that it is near the end of it's life.

I opened the link, took one look at the shed and said "Burn it." It isn't worth 99p, plus all the time of dismantling it, replacing parts, changing that silly roof design etc. However, if you get the chair and monitor, it would be worth it
