google earth

hi all,

since i got into astro stuff i'm finding google earth really useful. If you tick the weather box it gives you real time weather via sattelite imagery, so i always check it before i go and set up. Also on the top of the menu bar is a planet symbol, by clicking this you get google sky which is really good at zooming in on any part of the the cosmos, nebulae, other galaxies and all the constellations around us. Really cool.

Thanks Admaski, Downloading it now.. upgraded to Win 7 a while back and forgot to download google Earth. those features sound awesome

the star maps good if a little crowded when you zoom in

can you turn off some of the labels ?

the weather map looks handy though

Just looked at it, weather app is good on it. Also maps of the Moon and Mars.

Great moon map can zoom right in!

I discovered this recently as Stellarium wont work on my new laptop. Its great! You can orientate the view by altering the N icon in the upper right corner. I think its pretty nifty, a lot of stars, but you can overcome this in some way by zooming out.

nice set up, thinking of multiple monitors too but not three! just one above my laptop....time to upgrade my google earth me thinks...moon looks superb!
