michaelmorris
I decided I'd have a go at imaging Uranus. Not too difficult, but boy did I have to push the gain up (81%).

michael.h.f.wilkinson
Nice one! Did you try using a barlow? My thoughts exactly! Colour is spot on BTW.
michaelmorris
For this shot I was right on the brink with gain on the camera (81% gain). I tried a 2x barlow, but the image on the screen was very faint and very noisy at 100% gain. I didn't see the point in attempting to capture a video as any increase in resolution would likely be outweighed by the faint noisy raw image. TopHouse
As the Bishop said the the actress, it might be a small one but it's a good one! the colour is lovely, I'd definitely be proud of that. Well done mate.

So you were already at max possible exposure? If so. Yes then it's a shame you couldn't push it further with a barlow. But still a very nice capture tho! bish
As much as I love seeing the great Jupiter/Saturn images it's good to see some pics of those really distant gas giants too. Good stuff.
