steppenwolf
Was this with an IR filter in place, Mike? The image is a little soft in comparison with some of your recent images but this is a notoriously difficult galaxy to capture as the detail is very subdued and there is not much to 'hang your hat on'. MikeD
Thanks Alan.Yes Steve an IR was in place(Astronomik L type 2) but I know what you mean.I did mess with the draw tube position and re collimate last week. The star test looked good but may be worth me having another look,so thanks for drawing my attention to it. MikeD
I`d love to see what you could do with M100.......Alan:)I'll put it on the list Alan. Thanks Daz. I'll go for at least another hour on the L and then 1.5 hours each for the RGB and then a little more L if I think it will still improve the result( I like to bring out any background fuzzes if possible). I find the more data I get the less processing I need to do to get nice deep detail while keeping natural feel to the image.Mike.
RobH
Very nice result Mike.Looking forward to the colour too.You are totally correct....the more data you have, the easier and more natural the processing becomes.CheersRob
