Comet 2005 L3 McNaught

Recommended Posts

SPX350 F4.53, ATK-16HR, Astrodon luminance.

Caught this by accident trying to get the M94 outer halo with 5min subs bin2x2, thought it was an internal reflection until it moved and looked its position up and eventually found an old comet C/2005 L3 McNaught. In 2007-9 it reached 13.9mag but now at 17th mag this little thing has a small tail and is 657million miles away.

Taken 8.3.10 - 0033-0124hrs.

M94's outer halo shows faintly and a few edge on galaxies around as well. The comet has probably ruined the image though but never mind.
