Mars previewer woudnt work if anynone knows a comparson map image of this side taken at 4.15 GMT 8" LX10 DFK camera

I did the very large resize as i think t helps it show detail in the cap

as usual illprobably reprocess it

What focal length was it?

Also what were your conditions like, unfortunately we had fog this morning, so I'm waiting to try my neximage.....

The scope wasnt as cool as it should have been, seeing briefly for about 25 mins [ 3 captures ] was quite good, but not the best yet.

3x TV barlow, i reckon between 6000 and 7000 mm FL , as the long barrel of the barlow doesnt go all the way in. so will produce a little more mag,

Another good result Neil, I will have to have a go myself soon. Pole looks very strong, is that an artifact at the bottom?

Hi John, im really not sure, maybe others can chip in, I thought it might have been too. but looks very defined for a artifact. I suspect theres quite a few, as the capture wasnt set as best it coud have. but certainly showed the most detail. Its the ice cap im most happy about, showng considerable detail for 8" probably the best defined ice cap ive ever captured i think. give or take the artifacts. something im going to work on future captures

That's a beauty Neil. I'm not sure what artifact you are referring to as the markings at the bottom (image) all seem to line up with the markings on the map.
