New DSLR Moon !

Since there's a first light for a scope there must be a first light for a camera - well this is mine.

Taken with a Canon EOS 350D. 1/20 sec @ F10. Stack of 12 RAW images. Moon on 30 June 2006.

Processed in Registax. My first go at using a DSLR and attempting stacking in Registax.

Well you can tick the "it works" box alright. First go?

I found an article in Cloudy Nights - 'Lunar photography with a small refractor and a DSLR'.

The guy had a 4" Vixen refractor and a Canon EOS 350D, and explained how he imaged the moon.

I just followed his instructions and it worked first time !

For anyone who's interested here's the link -

There's always the tempation to 'give the image one more tweak' isn't there ?
