North American Nebula Re-edit

Recommended Posts

With the Moon washing out the southern views I decided to go for NGC7000 as it was sufficiently far enough away from the Moon and was high enough to be out of the glow of Gloucester. Once my rig was setup I promptly fell asleep in the garden on a recliner. :)

I was quite pleased how this has turned out given the conditions.

Exposure 21 x 5mins

A1 this Kevin, and such a large beast, but full of detail.

Isn't it great when you can have a kip for over 2 hours while it gets on with it? :)

Did you use a focal reducer The 105 is about f6 isn't it ?

Superb contrast in both pics Kevin. They ionisation front looks especially impressive. I like the red hue of the reprocess but I like the first one too (although I'm looking at it with my work monitor which is useless with dim stuff). Image 1 seems to have as much detail and a lighter touch. Image 2 adds drama!
