Pixinsight Plate Solving Reference Images

Hello all,

I’m trying to stack my images of Andromeda using Pixinsight. I know WBPP is slow but this is too much as it has never been so slow. It’s basically stuck on Plate Solving reference frames for over 4 hours now.

has this happen to anyone before? I have about 250 3 Minute exposures, 50 bias, 50 darks and 250 flats

There was an update a few days ago and something may have been broken by it. A number of people have reported issues with tools related to mosaicing for example.

But it will be slow anyway, at least its way too slow on my PC so i dont bother. I have had the Astrometric Solution box ticked off from the Lights tab in WBPP when i stack with it so it doesn't stall on that process forever.

If you have upgraded to PI 1.8.9-2 recently, I would recommend rolling back to 1.8.9-1 for the moment. It's not an automatic update, you have to download it from the PI website. Many posts on the PI forum have mentioned it runs very slow with the update, though others haven't noticed it. It seems to be machine hardware dependant. I found the ImageSolver script took around twice as long to run, along with the Mosaic problem Onikkinen mentioned.

If you haven't upgraded then ignore all I've written. 😊

I have the latest update, so yeah, good shout. I’ll go back to the previous version

Do you have the gaia databases installed locally and image solver configured to use them?
