SGL 2022 Challenge 8 - Pick a Planet

Jupiter with the GRS and Europa and Io.  There was  a significant amount of hazy high level cloud over Lowestoft the night (6th October 2022) I captured the video clips for this composite image. The Moon was also waxing gibbous.  

The videos were captured with my  5 inch Meade 500 Series Apo Refractor from our Backyard in Oulton Broad Lowestoft Suffolk (Lat 52deg28min north) using 3x  and 2.5 Barlows  and my colour QHY5-ll planetary camera. Data processed using PIPP, AutoStakkert3, Registax6, AffinityPhoto, FitsWork4 and DenoiseAI.

Hi,

My picture is a result of around 80% of 4500 frames (2.5 minutes in total) recorded on 30th September 2022 at 00:06 by SharpCap using Altair Starwave 102ED F/11, Baader Q-Barlow z2.25, ZWO ADC and ASI224MC camera on 1-axis driven SW EQ5. Place of capturing: backyard in Liverpool, 53* 25' N. Bortle 6-7. Stacking and sharpening performed with the AutoStakkert!, final cosmetics with Affinity Photo. The Stellarium says, that Jupiter was 35* 34' over horizon then, so quite low. Moons respectively from the left: Callisto, Europa and Io.

This is a result of around 80% of 5000 frames recorded on 29th September 2022 at 21:44 by SharpCap using Altair Starwave 102ED F/11, Baader Q-Barlow z2.25, ZWO ADC and ASI224MC camera on 1-axis driven SW EQ5. Place of capturing: backyard in Liverpool, 53* 25' N. Bortle 6-7. Stacking and sharpening performed with the AutoStakkert!, final cosmetics with Affinity Photo. The Stellarium says, that Saturn was 20* 06' over horizon then, so very low, even if it was its highest position. Titan is visible under the planet.

Not sure if 2 entries are allowed, but entering this as it's not something that is seen often! Between haze, heavy cloud, dew and poor seeing, I was able to get a few gaps where it was clear-ish and get this tonight of the dual moon transit, with the GRS in sight too!

Again, this is with my cheap setup, a 150p and ZWO290MC, from England

Another Jupiter, probably my best of this apparition, captured on 14 Oct 2022, from Norfolk UK, latitude 52° 30' 27". C14XLT, ASI462MC, ADC. 3x6 min SERS captured at 8ms/125fps with FireCapture, then processed in PIPP, AS3!, Registax, WinJupos and Affinity Photo. Total of 22 mins de-rotation.

I'd like to replace my previous picture of Jupiter with the same, but in second revision: it's a little bit sharper after some cosmetic improvement.

After 3 months without being able to take a photo if you want due to the CGE PRO crash, it was finally fixed and allowed me to make this first capture of Jupiter this season.
With plenty of visible detail in all zones and lanes, the photo on the IR Pass clearly shows the GRS for what it is, a giant hurricane in which you can see the winds in the form of a whirlpool. The photo on methane is just to complement this beautiful capture.

Another panel on October 23, now with two more unpublished photos where I try to highlight mainly the Ganymedes Moon with a posterior projection of the Virtual Planet Atlas so that colleagues can compare whether the albedo spots captured are real or artifacts.

Infelizmente este ano perdi a maior parte da temporada de Saturno devido a uma falha na montagem, neste momento já faleceu da oposição, mesmo assim posso considerar-me feliz por ainda ter a oportunidade de registar esta foto.

Picture of Mars, 20% of 5000 frames 31th September 2022 at 06:20 by SharpCap using Bresser Messier 10" Newtonian OTA reduced to 9" (F/5.5), Revelation 2" x2 ED Barlow and ASI678MC camera on my ATM EQ fork mount. Place of capturing: backyard in Liverpool, 53* 25' N. Bortle 6-7. Seeing: like usually in my location, 3/5. Stacking and sharpening performed with the AutoStakkert!, some cosmetics with Affinity Photo and Registax 6. Altitude: 44* 03' over horizon (Stellarium). I forgot: I used Baader UV/IR Cut filter.

Mars from the 25th and 30th October. 8" Dob, manual, asi462mc, 2.5x TV powermate, UV/IR cut filter. PIPP, Autostakert, Registax for wavelets, Astrosurface for sharpening and Gimp to clean the edge rind.

Wow!! My Jupiter image is magnitudes less impressive than yours! I hope in time, with much more practice/experience, I can get my Planetary images as good as this! Well Done you!

Some amazing images here!

That said, pretty happy with my very modest image of Jupiter, my 2nd ever attempt at imaging, unfortunately the iEXOS-100 was faulty, and would neither track nor slew properly (Motors would literally freeze dead with a grindy noise)

Therefore the image is unguided/tracked, and produced by capturing  3 x 3000 frames by aiming the scope with Jupiter in lower left quadrant of the sensor, letting it drit then realiigning 3 times.

Preprocessed in PIPP, Stacked best 40% of 9000 in Autostackert, then sharpened with Wavelets in Registax.

Mount is being replaced with a brand new EQ5 Pro from FLO, at least with that mount I can maybe go for a 127mm SkyMax M-C or an Evostar 72mm Apo down the line.
