  1. Well I tried putting it together, it only stacked 3 of the frames. So I tried a different method, same result. Then did the old do each frame individually, pre-process, stretch and stitch in ICE and turns out the vertical overlap didn't happen. No idea why or how that happened! I'm going to have to take the extra frames manually to stitch it all together then try to figure out what happened. I double checked all my co-ordinates and it was fine. I used a 20% overlap both H & V in Cartes DuCiel and all looked ok, co-ordinates imported fine, APT worked fine (except the guide star thing which I will tackle another time! So a bit frustrating but it was only a test night!
  2. Thats brilliant! I'll give it a try next time as my "test run" has come to a finish. When I have another go, I'll try this and see if it works. It says stop/start so I hope that means it'll select a star and e everything too! If it does, then fantastic! Thanks for all your help by the way!
  3. Ahhh I have those evenings too! Wait so long then something gets in the way! Finally got a clear night tonight and ran into an issue...... When the panel changes to the next one, i lose my guide star and PHD2 doesnt find another automatically...... ive been re-doing it manually for now but any way to set it up to do it automatically?
  4. Still haven't had a clear night since doing this post!
  5. Ahhh thats That is fantastic! Thank you. I've not experimented with the scripting before. I've usually manually done the GoTo then set up a single image plan and done it that way. This will make things much easier!
  6. Thank you, I figured it out a few minutes before you posted this. Was following a tutorial from a few years ago. But thank you for the reply! How are you able to create an imaging plan like that? @Paul M
  7. About 5 minutes after posting this, I figured it out. Go to the "Custom" Tab and import there. And in goes the data. Was following a You Tube tutorial that had it on the ToDo tab, but its a few years old!
  8. As the title suggests, I am trying to import the data from Cartes Du Ciel into APT to make a Mosaic. I have CdC set as the planetarium software for APT, and all I should need to do is set the Mosaic in CdC, click "Send Via Server" then import into my ToDo list in APT by hitting "Import List" then choosing the CdC option. I do this, and it tells me that 9 frames (my Mosaic) have been imported. I click OK........ and they are not on the list. I have no idea what I m doing wrong? If anyone can tell me about any setting I may have missed or if something has changed, then great! Feel free to ask any questions Here is the CdC screenshot where I hit "Send Via Server" Here I click "Import List" Select the Mosaic frames This is the confirmation telling me 9 frames have been imported. But they don't show anywhere!
  9. This was the type of response I was looking for. Thank you
  10. I thought the power supplies were 12V 3A? Or do they have 5A supplies? I'll need to check mine! Where did you get rhe info of 1A at settling from? Or 3A peak? Had you measured it or is there somewhere online with the info?
  11. Unless I am being blind, I can't seem to find power consumption figures for cameras. I am using the Altair Hypercam 183C Pro-TEC and I have looked around but cannot see this information anywhere. Does anyone know where this information may be? I'd like to find it before choosing power supplies for when I go out and about!
  12. I think this may be the way to go, although I did try stacking just the comet but even that didn't turn out great. I might try something other than DSS as I have never had much luck with the comet stacking!
  13. I do have APP, so I could give this a go. Thanks! I've not used that before. Is it free software? Good question. I'll have to check. I had the scope out again last night and completely forgot to upload the pictures I said I would! Sorry I did do that, but still came out really weird! Will see what happens when I put some more time on it tonight!
  14. I'll have to add them here once I get home from work as they are on my home laptop! The comet was moving in a linear fashion as can be seen by the star stacking and the quite straight line moving through the image where the comet was moving. It may be that the exposure time was maybe too long so when I was guiding on the stars, it did elongate the comet in a single 120s exposure. And obviously the stars trailed when doing a 120s exposure while guiding on the comet
  15. You tracked the comet for an hour without the background stars moving??? I was guiding, I did some where I guided on the stars, and some where I guided on the comet
  16. This is what I tried originally but it just comes out terrible for me!
  17. I've never used Siril. What are the techniques with stacking comets in Siril then?
  18. I've been having loads of trouble trying to image the recent comet (C/2022 E3 ZTF). I can't seem to figure out how to process it after imaging and I fear I may have now lost my window after being sick for a while, then finally getting clear skies last night. I took some images but cannot seem to get anything from it and I think I may have wasted the opportunity. I started taking a bunch of low exposure images (30s) to make sure neither the stars nor the comet were elongated. I tried the comet blend mode stacking in DSS, and it just doesn't work for me. It never gives even a slightly good result for some reason. So I stacked normally, and got a horrible streak for the comet (expected) then stacked with the comet and the stars trailed (expected) but I just couldn't get them to blend nicely in photoshop. I saw that some people would take long exposures and guide on the comet to get better detail from it, so I did that. I guided on the comet for 2 mins, took a bunch of those, then did the same but guiding on the stars. Once again, stacking normally I have the streak from the comet I just cannot get rid of, and the comet images won't even stack at all. I have no idea where to go from here. Is there a technique for this or have I just wasted the night?
  19. There is another one next wednesday too. the same 2 moons transiting at the same time as the GRS, but this time the shadows don't follow until a bit later. My scope won't pick out the moons against the background of the planet but for those with large scopes,. it could work! By about 12.30am on Thursday the shadows will both be viewable on opposite ends of the planet, and just before midnight, you'll see Io pop out from behind too
  20. Glad you were able to get back and see it! It was really very nice visually. Glad I took the time to view it before getting the picture. Ganymede's shadow was easy to spot, but it took me a while to get the Europa shadow! I couldn't pick the moon out among the face of the planet though. I could have kept at it, but wanted to get a picture while there were still patches so didn't spend long enough looking
  21. Not sure if 2 entries are allowed, but entering this as it's not something that is seen often! Between haze, heavy cloud, dew and poor seeing, I was able to get a few gaps where it was clear-ish and get this tonight of the dual moon transit, with the GRS in sight too! Again, this is with my cheap setup, a 150p and ZWO290MC, from England
  22. Fought through a lot of high haze, cloud cover and dew but in small pockets of clearish patches I managed to get this! Before attaching the camera I was able to get a visual look too which was really, really nice to see with my own eyes
  23. Forecasted as fully cloudy here i've had this date in the calendar for a few weeks now!
  24. I was unaware how many were in Taurus! I have the Cambridge double star book, but this has given a few more to look out for
