Clear skies early this morning, bit of a shock as I had no work today so expected endless cloud! Setup the Evostar in a spot where it was sheltered from the wind. Half decent seeing so I decided to focus on close-ups of the AR's. No H Alpha today as clouds moved in just as I finished the white light and Ca-K.

AR12882 close to the limb, shot at 3 meters focal length in white light and 2 meters in Ca-K. I did try and shoot Ca-K at 3 meters but results were disappointing.

And AR12880. Managed to get this one at 3 meters in both wavelengths. Couldn't make my mind up on the false colour for the white light image so posted both!

Nicely caught sir ...

I might well dust down the Tal and point it in the general direction if the squally showers desist any time soon .

Might need a serious refresher  course regarding processing though ... if I actually remember how the mount and camera works ... lol.

Cor, lovely set of images!

re: the pair of AR12880 false-colour images, I think I prefer the brightness of the first image, but prefer the richer colour of the second one!

Oooh, I hope Mr Ward gets the Tal into action again! I miss the imaging a little bit but Sarah would go nuts if I bought a camera! ("We need to leave for Dorset NOW!" - "Just a few more minutes, there's a gap in the clouds coming then I'm done!" Then stuck in jams for hours...!)
