Mono Jupiter and Saturn

Still wading through AVI's but having much more luck with mono than colour in Autostakkert. Does anyone know of a good tutorial ?

Best tutorial I've come across is buy the author. Lengthy but shows you exactly what everything does...

Making great progress Trevor. Again good detail. Not sure how long your shooting Saturn But at least 6 mins is fine. ive gone longer with winjupos incase of storms. But a 6 min stack is easily fine. Looks to me like your doing less than this. Though it could be a smaller scope fooling my eye. As most often it will be noisier. Per exposure.

Thanks again Neil. I had not really thought about the length of the capture relating to noise levels but its nowhere near 6 minutes. I’m stacking about 1200 frames out of 3600. I’ve also downloaded Winjupos and will attempt to use that in the future. 
I will run longer exposures next time and see what results I get. Lots to learn but it seems to be going in the right direction.

Nearly got my refractor rained on last night. Weather not being kind here. If you capture for at least 6 mins. your image will be so much less noisy. Good luck.

Correct. The only way you can really tell how the seeing is, is to get out there and give it a go.
