Genuinely Doris' sister (my gran) told me their grandparents were posh, you could tell, because they had a pig at the bottom of the yard ...

Oooh, jumpers for goalposts!  My maternal grandparents' next-door neighbours apparently used to keep a pig at the end of their garden when there were two of them (I assume the husband was dead by the time I was old enough to understand that keeping a pig at the end of a garden in Scunthorpe was, err, "unusual" :)

There's a place called Gornal in the Black Country where the legend goes they were so fond of the pigs (kept, often by a small co-operative of households , to fatten on domestic scraps) they took them out and sat them on the front wall to watch the parade go by ...

Given the near total disconnection from the cycles nature of many people these days I'm surprised they're not now called things like "The Kanye Moon" or "The Bestival Moon".

I am waiting for an 'unprecedented' Moon. Presume it will just pop up and not bother with the boring old lunar cycle.😠 its being grumpy that keeps me cheerful !

However the antipodean branch of the family should have had a total eclipse on Wednesday. Awaiting report. That's worth a shout.
