California Nebula

California Nebula - NGC1499 - 3 hours Ha and 6 hours OIII - processed in the HOO pallet. Ha captured last month - Oiii last night. Equipment as per sugnature. Processed entirely in Pixinsight. NINA used for session control. First try with multi star in PHD2 - very good!

Please no pixel peeping unless you have a fetish for panda eyes 😉 

Need to get RGB stars next.

Excellent capture David, got an unfinished project of it waiting for a clear moonless night, I seem to have an abundance of Ha and not much O3.

The Oiii is desperately faint - 6 hours of subs stacked and stretched only revealed the faintest cloud of Oiii - masked stretch 3 times to get it useable!

Very nice indeed,  I love the detail, colours and your framing, I guess a mosaic is out of question to get it all in?

And hey, your stars are round, prior to getting the spacing right my corner stars on my 268c camera looked like those little metal jacks that I played with when I was a kid.😊

I have enjoyed getting this target and if we get a run of clear nights I must just get the two sides as well. I am just grabbing the RGB for the stars so we will see.

Lovely and sharp with a great sense of depth. Rgb stars would really finish this off.
