The Veil Nebula 4 Panel Mosaic in HaR_OiiiG_OiiiB

Recommended Posts

The Veil Nebula imaged through my Esprit 100/SX-46 with side by side William Optics GT71/ ASI1600mm on a Mesu 200 between July and November 2020. 4 panel mosaic with Ha and RGB through the 100 and Ha and Oiii through the GT71. 22hrs each of Ha and Oiii and 3 hours each of  RG and B spread evenly the 4 panels.

Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop, in particular I used StarNet to produce starless narrowband images which I then blended with the starry ones and layered over the R G and B in Photoshop using blend mode lighten, Ha to Red, Oiii added to Blue and Green.

That is stunning Dave.  I know only too well what incredible perseverance is required in both capturing the data for these mosaics and processing the subs.

I like the colours, framing and control of the stars.  A wonderful image indeed, well done :)
