Ok, it's M101 again. OMG-Now it's Drizzled.

Hi All, just finished a process of my M101 data taken a few days ago.

All subs are 6 minutes, binned 1x1, total integration time 6hours 24 minutes.

L x 13, R x 18, R x 15, B x 18.

Thanks for the likes and replies chaps. I realised earlier that I'd posted up a "low" res jpeg and not the 16bit tiff so adding that below.

I was quite amazed that I started picking up the faint outer arm on the left side. Also NGC 5477 at the top is coming through quite well, easier to see zoomed in on the tiff.

Next to tackle the drizzles data and see if anything improves.

Took the liberty of playing around in Pixinsight with that Tiff file, there's a lot more detail here to be bumped

sure the softer parts are a bit more noisier now but this was just a 5 min touch up

Very nice Mark.  I like your sympathetic processing... admittedly Miguel has shown that the core of the galaxy could live with a bit more sharpening but overall I think your original process stands up very well.

Cheers Miguel and @x6gas, I did do a very gentle sharpen on the galaxy but one step more introduced noise/ harshness that I didn't like so left it dialled back.

You’re right, it’s a fine line to balance, i just wanted you to see there’s more detail collected in your subs than you would think.

No worries mate, your edit definitely shows up some of the fainter stars in the galaxy.

Just finished processing the drizzled data and found I could do more with it sharpening without introducing very much noise.

Cheers guys, looks like it's well worth me dithering and drizzling at my current sample rate of 1.454 "/px though some say you should only drizzle if under sampled.
