My New Scope - Yep another C80ED

This scope seems very popular at the moment and to be fair i can see why. It looks lovely and i cant wait to get it out under some clear skies. Anyway here's a pic of it on my eq5 mount, looks a whole load smaller than my old 8" reflector, but to be fair i actually think it looks better.

Just one question though, anyone know how i remove the focuser? I want to strip it down and remove the glue that has been used for grease and put something more suitable on it.

funny you should say that, i took the picture, looked at it on my camera and then thoght, 'I wonder when was the last time we water that plant.' So i watered it.

That's funny. I thought the Celestron ED80 would be virtually colour-free, but I can see a very obvious streak of blue in the first picture.

Sheesh. I guess that's why they're so cheap now, huh?

it does appear to be a very nice scoep and very stable on the EQ5 mount. Of course teh only problem i have now is all of the clouds!!!
