Moon near the Hyades Cluster - 7th Jan 2020

The forecast looks pretty dodgy tonight, but just in case anyone gets a clear spell, the Moon is very close to the Hyades Cluster tonight. Worth a look or quick image if you get the chance.

Not a chance from here sadly, all we have in Poole is horizon to horizon clouds and drizzle 🙁. 

Good thing it's Wessex Astro talk night tonight.

I suspected as much, looks pretty grim unfortunately. Perhaps someone will get lucky.....

This is at least something that happens fairly regularly. I saw the Moon and Hyades together a month or two ago. I also remember seeing them together through binoculars last winter. A great sight when the weather cooperates.

Two objects that I enjoy looking at, this is a nice binoculars combination.
Sadly was not to be through the cloud, ahh well, another night will come along.
