Hi

I'm a complete beginner and thinking of buying a Celestron Asrto Fi 130 I've heard that batteries don't last very long. I've seen Celestron make a power bank that is quite expensive.

Are there any other power packs that I can use that I can connect to the mount? Is the connection to the mount a generic type or does it have to be a Celestron lead?

Thank you in advance for any help the community can offer.

Hello and welcome to SGL. There are three options:

1. A generic jump start battery
2. A deep cycle leisure battery - these tend to be more expensive.
3. Any 12v regulated power supply that can exceed the minimum power requirements of the mount. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/power-accessories/lynx-astro-12v-dc-5amp-low-noise-mains-power-supply.html

The plug on Celestron mounts is normally 2.1mm dia x 5.5mm dia centre positive.
