A New View of the Moon

Apologies if this has been shared before, but I came across this video and absolutely loved it! I don't get much time off from work and exams at the moment, but it really does make me want to go into outreach...

This is one video that inspires, it should be shown to all those DSO imagers that moan when the Moon is out...

It never fails. Every time I watch that and see the reaction of people when they see and experience something for first time it takes my breath away!

I like to believe as a species, we have a hunger for knowledge. Even if we don't realize it.

As another (sort of) imager, I would say that I get similar responses from people walking by, when I let them see the image as it builds on the laptop screen. But I guess the moon is more "instant gratification" .

Those comments of Shock and Awe, are always the result when the moon  viewed through a telescope with the magnification at high level.  How good it is to see that demonstrated in this fine video.  Even though man has had is feet on the lunar soil, these telescopic views can refill enthrall folks.   It even inspires us Amateurs to get more people at the eyepiece.
