Hi all. Old member returning after several years away. Been through a number of scopes over the past few years. I sold my largely unused 10 inch OO dob to pay for a new laptop (doing a master's degree) and had been scope-less all summer. Currently I use a lovely Towa 339 80mm fl15 on it's original wooden tripod with GEM. I always had a thing for classic Japanese refractors. For a 100 quid all in with some eyepieces too how could I refuse?

I used to have a 76mm f/15 refractor - very nice it was too.

I've just looked up some typical pics of your new scope as I'm never too sure what is what.  Nice scope and I like the beautiful wooden tripods.

Thank you. The optics are just fantastic and for a scope made in the early 70's it's not at all in bad condition. I will give the wooden tripod a clean and treat it to spot of Danish oil but other than that I intend to leave it alone.
