newbie alert
Hi all ,I have 3 Halfords power tank type units that I use to power my mount, camera, dew bands etc..one of them is taking ages to charge and running out of power quite quickly.. My idea is to use the casing and replace the rechargeable battery inside..is it possible to change the battery for a lithium type? Would I need a different charging unit? Just an idea floating about at the moment.. Any ideas please?
Stargazer33
You would definitely need a new charger. One that matches the new lithium battery. Don't try to charge a lithium battery with a lead/acid battery charger!
Gina
Definitely NOT - it could catch fire - or explode!!
Davey-T
If you buy Tracer Battery it will come with the proper charger. Did this with mine, chucked out the jump leads, tyre pump and 17ah LA battery and fitted 40ah Tracer LifePO battery Dave PS: You'll only need one battery then
MarsG76
+1 for all above.... The best idea is to replace the battery with the same type.... but if you want to use a lithium battery than don't cut corners or you're asking for trouble... new charger is a must.
