Andromeda - First Sighting...

WOW... Only way to describe it is like this....

Spotted Pleiades with naked eye the other night... faint blurry blob...

Andromeda through my scope looks like a more defined blurry blob...

Sorry for the vague description but it's just amazing

The first time I saw Andromeda Galaxy was in my LP back yard. It was a bright oval smudge, and just took my breath away. Hope you have many more great sightings.

Yes, I remember seeing M31 for the first time. Well you have many more just as WO first times to go ...Try M81&M82 the two galaxies that you can see together in the same view or M35 the star cluster or ...well just buy the book turn left at orion and you will see...

I was astonished and amazed when I first saw it.

Considering the distance it is away from us it is enormous.

Good spot astrodonut. The thing that always gets my head spinning with M31 is that the front bit is about a 100,000 years closer than the back bit.........so there must be a little time distortion on the image.................not that it would be very noticeable but it must be there.
