Whale galaxy

12 hours of 180s LRGB subs.

I had issues with collimation and mirror flop for this image but it turned out pretty well anyway.

Asi1600mm pro

Edge hd 800

Zwo lrgb filters and efw

Very fine work. You don’t see many Whale images. Loads going on there.

I can now see why it looks so lumpy through a scope and Mk1’s.

I was going to, actually in inspiration from your image of this galaxy, but the clouds came and they aren't leaving?

We have the same problem in Europe!

The image I posted had no Ha filter data but the response to Ha varies from system to system. Your image strikes me as being really strong at the blue end but less so at the red, hence my suggestion that you try Ha. I'll give it a go myself, too. This is such a great target that it deserves our fullest attention...
