Can anyone tell me what size this thread is?

I used to think that it was a 2" filter thread but no, its not.... I got a plastic adapter from Mogg Adapters and lathed off the bigger part to fit snugly into the DSLR ring bayonet mount... than screwed the 1.25" filter into the middle...when I get home, I'll take a few pictures and post here... that solution works like a charm.

Thanks all, on closer inspection it does not appear to be a proper thread at all, saved me wasting money.

As luck would have it I'm booked on a 3-d printing demo tomorrow night, they said they will be able to do demos for us.  I wonder could I make up a push fit adapter drawing on the computer and bring it along?

Is Mr Mogg still going ? I've got one of his Delrin adapters.

Looking good...

I'd reverse the plate to bring the filter into the front T thread section and away from any possible interference inside the camera body.

Thanks! I’ve measured it so the innermost point of the metal holder on the 1.25” housing sits in the same plane as my clip filter  but in fact I can probably protrude another 1mm further forward into the camera.  I obviously want it was close as possible to the sensor.  The filter itself is a further few mm back
