Canon EOS 700

Although I have had a fair bit of experience with photography over the tears, I had decided not to get caught up in AP , preferring purely visual astronomy. However, right out of the blue, I have free use of a Canon 700D. I haven't  had a chance yet to have a play, but it looks a nice capable bit of kit. Would it be suitable for astro photography?

Thanks Steve, at the moment I haven't a clue what it will do! It "appeared" this tea time, second hand, but obviously has never been used, so it's anew toy for me to play with!
