Cave Nebula

Once we'd finished the pair of LDN dusty objects our guest Paul and I swung the TEC140 onto the Cave Nebula. We let it chunter away for a few nights till we'd got a gratifying 4 hours per channel of LRGB and 5 hours of Ha to play with. This is my processing. With 21 hours of data, processing is a pure delight. This is the kind of object I like working on best, with lots of unexpected colours, contrasting streaks of black dust, golden stars reddened by the dust of the Milky Way, etc.

TEC 140 Apo, Avalon Linear Fast Reverse, Atik 11000 mono. I'm now guiding the Avalon in PHD2 and seem to be getting better results than I did guiding in my usual Astro Art on this mount.

Olly and Paul.
