Anybody tried or Knows about theese

Anybody tried any of these  Altair Astro Kitakaru Eyepices they are supposed to be great for solar and planetary viewing 

same price as the Televue plossel .

Given the long focal lengths I can't imagine they'd be of much use for planetary. The 18mm in my C9.25 would only give x130.

Just read the advertised S@N review - they were reasonably impressed with them and said they were good for open clusters and star fields; and unsuitable for fast focal ratio scopes. The 30 mm was the best, but the eye relief was a bit tight for glasses wears - the 40mm had better ER.

Sounds like the focal lengths are not very well targeted, esp. not for planetary.  There are better low power ep's out there in my opinion.

Perhaps they would be useful in a Quark? Quite specialised but 30 and 40mm would work well. Bit of an odd one I will admit!

There was a thread on Cloudy Nights earlier this year on these.  The last post does indeed mention their use in a Daystar Quark setup at NEAF.

I'm not feeling the need to try one of these in my quark when I already have a TV 32mm Plossl and they are around the same price

Seriously, I agree. I'm sure the TV Plossl is a better and more flexible choice. Better eye relief and better in faster scopes. It loses a bit of afov but there are other choices out there if that matters to you.
