The Solar Chromosphere (Ca-K) - 2nd July

Forecast was for clear skies early this morning so I set my alarm early-ish. Unfortunately after a late night last night I must have turned off the alarm and gone back to sleep Fortunately when I did get up it was still clear but it made the whole thing a bit of a rush as I just got my 6 panes for the full disk as the clouds started to pile in.

White lights to follow a bit later.

great shots Dave, its very quite mate, hope it dont swell up  and go into a giant phase. very quite in WL too, i could only see very faint faculae. thanks charl.

Lovely. That bright area is good in H-Alpha too.  Same weather here in Cambridgeshire; an hour or 2 of sun, now gone.

Good catch David, were you out stargazing last night ? really nice clear sky here so I stayed out 'till it started getting lighter, no early rising for me either
