Goto for Omni XLT 120 refractor

I am looking to upgrade to a goto mount for my Omni XLT 120mm refractor. I am wondering if I bought a Skywatcher EQ3-PRO SynScan could I fit the mount head on my existing tubular tripod? It is mainly for visual use and the refractor weighs 5.7 kg. I believe there is not a straightforward goto upgrade for my existing mount.

Would that be adequate or would I need an EQ5 goto?

The EQ3-2 mounts are compatible with the Celestron CG4 tripods - they and the Celestron CG4 are the same mount I believe. If you are going to invest though you might want to consider an EQ5 - I've always felt that the 120mm F/8.3 refractors are somewhat undermounted on the EQ3-2 / CG4 mount heads.

I certainly agree with John. I use the supplied CG4 with mine and would definitely upgrade to something a little more solid if I went go-to.
