brantuk
I've been watching that one since last night - 6 days still to go - I think it will go up a bit by then. Shame it's not a buy it now price for £310 - I'd snap it up just for the mirror alone.
Stu
Yes, I saw that one too. Tempting if it stays low enough.... What are Meade mirrors like?

I believe variable from OK to quite good. I've read reports of one or two dogs though but I guess you get those with any mass produced product of this type. My LB 12" was in the "OK" category. Meade use GSO to make the Lightbridges. They had issues with coatings on the ones dating a few years back but the more recent ones have addressed this I believe. Paul73
Recoating isn't that pricy if you get a good price on the scope. I'm watching with no intention of buying. Just interested about the price. Paul

Looks to be about £300 for the mirror and flat. A 16" mirror is £175-198 depending on thickness, flat about £50 all + VAT. Plus the cost of getting it there. John
Will any carriers insure glass / optics in transit or would it be a matter of "fingers crossed" ? Probably better to be your own courier ?
mdstuart
Hope it goes to a good home. Perhaps I could make a binocular scope by pairing it with my Dob. Mark
