Freddie
Whilst waiting for it to get fully dark before doing some DSO in Ha on the MN190 and Atik, decided to have a quick go at the moon. The 7nm Ha filter certainly calms the seeing and cuts the brightness down nicely. 6 out of 10 shots stacked in AS!2.

Psychobilly
Nice result indeed ... I have used IR pass filters in the past... Never tried Ha... Peter...
Freddie
Thanks for the comments. I use IR pass with my normal planetary set-up but the Ha works very well at calming the seeing as long as it is a super bright target and it was what I had in the filter wheel on the DSO rig !! Davey-T
Interesting result Freddie, I took a couple of images of the daylight Moon the other day after the Sun sank too low and actually removed the 35nm Baader HA filter used as ERF in the Technosky 152mm must leave it in next time. Peje
Been meaning to do this myself, what method do you use for getting the image back to white?
Freddie
Sorry, not sure what you mean by "back to white"
Peje
Sorry I wasn't very clear, when I shoot in HA with my camera the resulting image will be red.
Davey-T
When you image HA with a DSLR it will come out red, when you use a CCD it will come out mono. Dave
Freddie
As Dave has said, assuming the CCD isn't colour. Mine is mono.
Peje
Ah right, I'll have to figure out how I can change it back. Thanks anyway.
