Jupiter Impact

Hey Guys

IFL are just reporting that on the 17th Of March there was an impact on Jupiter, theres video from that night. Anyone else see this yet? first i've heard of it

Too many showers to risk a scope out there tonight, unfortunately.

Not a chance, like my sister driving, wouldn't have know it even happened

I was observing Jupiter and my log records quite decent seeing, between 9pm and 11.30pm when the clouds rolled in, but sadly it was after the event. That would have been special !!

I suppose that means the end of Jovian dinosaurs!

I have some video of Jupiter that is dated 17/3/2016 ( but may be dated incorrectly ). It's all between 8 and 9pm.

I can't process them just yet. If I do find something who should I contact?

Definitely going to have to dig out my notes from Shoemaker Levy 9. Now that was special. I remember the excitement of impact night, squinting all night through a little 4.5" Tasco reflector with my dad, hoping we'd see something. We didn't see a bean, but the footage and pics from others were amazing.
