Eqmod /question

Seem to have I assume a small problem with eqmod, all installed ok mount talking to eqmod , coordinates imputed to both eqmod and cart du ciel , but testing outside I was Trying to get mount to point to sun, hit slew button but there's an error on eqmod says horizon limit so I'm assuming somethings not quite right , what side should the dovetail screws be on when in park position could it be puck needs turning round or is they're something glaringly wrong that I have missed

Have you got horizon limts checked in EQMOD ??  Maybe unchecking it will give you what you need??

make sure your location settings are correct in both EQMod and CDC\Stellarium, else you'll get some interesting results...

To make sure the scope is parked where EQMOD thinks is the home position - undo the clutches, Park and wait for the mount to stop moving, then engage the clutches - the scope will be pointing to the NCP.

Yes limits was ticked so thats sorted that ,co ordinates put into eqmod and cart du ciel but sent mount to the sun  sun, slewed round and by the look of it  telescope would have been looking down, seems too be overshooting the target obviously something a miss but it re parks ok ,any ideas ?

ah might be getting there i have reset the ini file as i messed some settings the other day ,in the elevation box i have 114 for corby as that the measurement above sea level is that right ?

hmmmm nope retested still the same will park at right position slew too an object i the sky picked m31 slewed round and kept going scope would have been pointing down, odd

ah i give up i will get out ,slew too a target later this week weather permitting  sync on a few stars then see if it slews too target ,my head hurts lol

Looks like you have a custom park position which isnt pointing at Polaris. Try deleting that park position - use the default park position undo the clutches - point the scope at Polaris - tighten the clutches and try it again.

well i deleted the ini file to reset and the mount parks  in the right position,just seems too over shoot target,ie clocks showing 0 and the scope would be weights down once parked  ,maybe   once ive been out and synched  on a few stars i may calibrate itself.

In Alignment/Sync

 

Click icon with X in it to clear alignment data.

 

In Park/Unpark 

 

With mount in home position, click Resync Encoders, make sure scope is at park position(but not parked) click OK

Yes but will rererecheck 

been thinking over a cup of tea if the mount is in park position , should I have synced cart du ciel so it is centred on NCP , or am I thinking too hard

Sorry if I have missed this, but have you wiped out all previous sync points?

This will affect your new points if not done. If you move the mount  it should be done each time before restarting alignment.

as we don't know if the problem is with the client in this case cartes du ceil ,scope or eqmod maybe it would be worth trying the scope using stellerium. I can remember another post a whilst back with a similar problem and it turned out they where running their client program with the correct time but wrong year setting

Hallelujah , deleted ini files through toolbox which I had tried but obviously hadn't done right , put settings back in , problem now seems to be solved now for PhD 2
