Hi all, just wanted to say that I have bought a skywatcher 127 goto, childishly pleased (I am in my sixties) with my purchase and just wanted to share. Cannot stop grinning, now expecting clouds for 6 months!

Nice one, Keith.  I've not long had a Celestron 127 GoTo - about 4 months, I think, and it's been almost continuous rain and cloud since!  It must clear up soon!

I have however had some opportunities and seen some fabulous objects.  Yes, the excitement is almost palpable.  It's what you get at this time of life - good, isn't it?

It is an exciting time when your first telescope arrives. It is even more exciting when you get your first light. Hopefully the excitement never stops. There are so many new objects to find and see for the first time. Perhaps the best of all is a first view of Saturn. Hope your sky clears soon.

I had one of those, great scopes! don't forget to let it cool down outside for an hour or two before you use it.

cheers peeps, 40 years ago I had a 4.5 newt, with an alt az, never knew how to set it up, even so I do remember the buzz I got when I saw the rings of Saturn, only by accident, I had no idea the bright dot in the sky was Saturn until I focused.
