RI Christmas Lectures just started on BBC 4

Fortunately this was set up to record as I'd completely forgotten it was on.  Second one this evening at 8pm and the final one tomorrow, same time.

Last year's I found rather disappointing compared with previous ones.  The theme for this year's lectures is "How to Survive in Space" and is presented by Kevin Fong who has presented documentaries on similar themes before, so I'm hoping it will be worth watching.

By coincidence I've just noticed that Kevin Fong is also presenting a two-parter on BBC4 starting at 9pm on 4th January called "To Boldly Go".  Looks like a repeat, but I don't think I've seen it before.

Looks like the third lecture will be about deep space propulsion which could be interesting. Wonder if they'll mention VASIMR?

The first two lectures were very good, IMO.

I think Kevin Fong's (very) dry sense of humour is wasted on the kids (and Helen Sharman, FWIW!)

I like his style   Good subject matter, well presented

One of the best series of recent years, I really liked the style of presentation. 

The kids by the look on some of their faces were really well into it, well done to all concerned.
