Bright flashes in Taurus!

Hi folks,

After my abortive 5-hour attempt to see some Taurids (http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/256472-where-are-the-taurids/ ), here's a couple of images of the session from my Norfolk garden.

Firstly, a single 30 second frame, Canon 700d, Samyang 8mm, ISO 1600. There are a few big flashes in the region of Taurus, but I think they might be something else!

And here's the whole timelapse. Around 4 hours of 30-second exposures:

It's not bad, but with the expected distortion at the edges. Massive field of view.

Useful tip: I use a battery-powered footwarmer to keep the dew off. Only £14 for a pair! Essential with the big bulbous glass at the front.

Nice bit of improvisation there. I may give this a go, I have a dew band and controller but often run two mounts and cameras at once, so this could be handy. Or I could try a chemical heat pack in a sock.
