Great scope no doubt but I'd rather put my money in to a truss dob. OK if you have good skies and don't need to transport it but a solid 16" tube is going to require some thought to get in to the average sized car. I know a member on here has to take the front seat out of his car to fit his in for star parties. I seem to remember a similar scope on UK B&S some years ago selling for £1600- ££1800 so £2k with offers sounds about right.

I do indeed have to take out my front seat but my base is a little wider than the OOUK one so maybe not necessary with the ali version.

Ooooh, nice. I'd take the mirrors out and do a truss job as second 16 incher, but a more mobile one to take to dark sites.

16" is the same length as my 14" and that used to fit in my peugeot 306 hatchback with the front seat forward :-)

Have you thought about giving the dob the 'Moonshane' treatement? I thought sometime back you said you were going to convert it.

Yeah I was going to but just have so many (non astro) projects I have not had time yet. will do it eventually. that said, it's easy enough to get in and out of the car and taking the seat out is four bolts.

Its back, and £200 cheaper.  Not quite portable enough for me.
