Lots of detail. The Newton rings are very straight. This could indicate a tilt. Maybe the images can be corrected using Fourier methods. The NR signal would appear as a pair of peaks in the Fourier spectrum. Removing these could help.

You first perform a Fourier transform on the image, remove the unwanted peaks, and transform back. The Fourier transform turns an image into a 2D spectrum in which the intensity of each pixel is the amplitude of sine waves of different wavelengths that can reproduce the image. By lowering the spike corresponding to the NR wavelength, and transforming back, you remove the NRs (hopefully)
