I'm using my phone so got limited functionality. But it looks like a current article and was posted as such.

They certainly look like aurora.

Possible -

that link has a posting time date of 1pm 18th so they mean the night of the 17th ?

There was relatively extensive aurora in the usual northern lattitudes with these from Aberdeenshire.

Or was that the night of the 16/17 ?

I know Aberdeen is a long way from Norfolk, but It wouldnt be the first time that Norfolk has been the only place in England that caugt a Scottish display !

My understanding is the aurora was not triggering a high KP reading hence no emails etc. I have seen an incredible time lapse taken by Kris photography at Anglesea. From a few nights ago. It was solar wind and a hole in the megotrophere that was the cause.

It was visible from Anglesey/Llandudno/Trawsfyndd and photographed and there were a lot of fb posts from norfolk on the UK aurora group. Apparently the kp was low but the polarity was well south

Did you catch it, Kev?

Wish I could have some sort of sensor around here. It's the second time I've missed it.
