Mars & Jupiter from 3/4 May

Recommended Posts

Here are my captures from the night of 8/9 May.

First Jupiter which was over in the West. There way thin high cloud that looked more like mist.

Next is Mars.

These were taken on my new QHY5L II. First light for the camera and still getting used to the software - ezplanetary keeps freezing!

I am really impressed with this camera, it is much better than my SPC900NC web cam!

Anyway, here they are:

Jupiter is looking very nice with the moon and GRS

but can you tell my how you manage to time travel as I'm sure this is the 5th of May ;)

i'd love to be able to leap forward to clear skies :)

Hi Jackruff. The log file is on my laptop at home, but I will post the details as soon as I get an opportunity.

I am really pleased with them myself. After struggling with various web cams, having the extra fps really makes a difference. I think I had frame rates of 40-56 fps, much better than my old Philips SPC900NC which I had to use on 5-10 fps or it would compress the data in order for the USB1 driver to keep up with the frame rate.

Thanks Michael - I don't look quite so daft now!  :icon_jokercolor:

I was out last night so couldn't get the log files for the images but I will post them tonight jackruff.

Thanks everyone for all the positive comments - I can't tell you how chuffed I am with this little camera.  :icon_bounce:

Thanks Harvey, Angie & Pete,

With the Moon bubbling as much as it was I was really surprised at how good the final image of Jupiter came out, especially as it was well over to the West when I imaged it.
