Hi Simon and welcome to the forum. I haven't been to the society for some time now and gather through the astro grapevine there has been a change in leadership at the society, is it Richard who is running things?

Hi James,

Yes, Richard's just coming into his second year as BAS Chair, though Nigel is still very much on the scene. The Society has been incredibly active over the last year, with quite a few star parties and other 'outreach' events, as well as the Friday night sessions at BGS and Saturdays at the observatory. I've only been a member for about a year but am really enjoying being involved.

There are occasional star party evenings at Tyntesfield usually for 3 hours or so.  Worth signing up for then you get the dates sent and reserve your place for £5.  I will be attending as many as I can around work commitments.
