O.k really not the best but hey its a first attempt and i can see this here registax is going to take some learning. The video was shot last year on a Nexstar 8, and a 500D. Struggled with focus as i had to use the standard Schmit focuser as when i use my steel track with DSLR attached the mount motors give up and the rig immediately points straight up lol. How you guys get the incredible details and colour in your images just amazes me. So any tips on Regi 5 processing would be warmly appreciated.

looks pretty good to me plenty of surface detail and a moon, you should be pretty pleased especially for a 1st attempt! most of the images of planets you see on here are taken with dedicated webcam type cameras mono or colour. lots of AVI's and stacked after.

Very nice one for a first attempt AND DSLR shot. As others have said, imaging with a webcam or dedicated planetary camera is better

Ah yes I would love a flea or cricket or bed bug or whatever else they are called. However trying to balance the cost of general photography, equipping myself for DSO and planetry plus funding the Mrs just aint easy. One of them will have to go........now which one.......hmm.

Wow...that is great, especially for a dslr image.  Hope you don't mind, I tried a bit of tweaking in Elements 10 for this old guy's learning attempts.

What would be helpful is a summary of what you asked registax to do. There loads of ways of processing this, some better than others.

To be honest i just went with the default settings as i know no better. Then justr gently played with the wavelets.
