20mm wide field eyepiece to plug the gap

Hi,

I had the Maxvision 20mm, but sold it to fund something else. Now I realize that I have a gap in my collection and would like to explore the market for a widefield 20mm EP under £120 to plug it.

Any suggestions?

You might have sold the best 20mm wide field eyepiece for under £200. Perhaps another

Yes i have the Meade 20mm SWA and it is an excellent eyepiece,you would to pushed to get a better view, IMO.

18mm ES82 go for about £100 second hand, but the ER is pretty tight. Some get on with them, but I didn't and sold it.

As an alternative to the ES that Russ suggests, the Maxvision 18mm 82 is only €109 plus shipping (so about £100 delivered) - Maximum true FOV in a 1.25" fitting?

Eye relief (for the Meade version) is only 13mm, though.

Or just get another 20mm - I hear they're really good, but I haven't had first light through the one I received this week

Optically speaking, the Maxvision performs very well, but I didn't find the eye cup particularly comfortable.

Shaun, have you compared the Delos with Hyperion or Sky-watcher?

Yes Imad at my last dark site visit one of the guys there had a set of hyperons - there is no comparison the TV is much better, he was quite surprised.

I would say the Excel - LX range was the same as the Hyperons for clarity

As you have already off-loaded the best 20mm without going to Pentax or TV, what about the 20mm ExSc version of the same thing?

Personally, I'd just wait and save a bit longer and get a used 20mm T5 Nagler. This would be about £200 or so and is well worth it. Another option is maybe a 22mm Panoptic. I am TV biased but there's a reason.
