The Moon 16 September 2013

I've not snapped the Moon for quite a while and this one also counts as "first night light" for my new observatory.  I took 100 frames with the ED120 APO and Canon 1100D, ISO 100, 1/100 sec.  Stacked in Registax5 then sharpened and slightly colour saturation enhanced in PS.  Cropped to 1024px as the seeing was quite poor and the Moon was barely above the observatory wall.

Roger, very nice but where is the blue tint at bottom from?, i took some A-focal shots other day but they need a little processing work.........fancy having a play, they are just a little over exposed

I think the blue tint is due to the moon being about 50% behind the observatory wall    (And my pushing the saturation a bit more than I should have done).

It's so long since I've seen the Moon I'd not realised it was so close to full again!
