Absolutely fabulous day , barely seen a cloud since sunrise ....

Got home late again and got lucky , shot three sets of sixty back to back , used twenty cracking frames from set A , then just dumped sets B and C as they were totally unusable ... amazed how quickly the conditions went from good to awful ...

Had a play with different Wavelet strategy today after a tip from Mr Peach regarding Gaussian / Dyadic ( http://www.planetary...sing-registax6/ ) Shall be pursuing this further ...

1000D + ED80Pro + ND3.8 + 1.8 x Barlow + OIII.

1/640s @ ISO 200 , 20/60/180 , Reg 5.1 , Gimp 2.8.

It's the first time I've seen a proper explanation regarding this , looking forward to grabbing a few Gb's on Jupiter to see how it works on " a mere mortals " data ....

Very nice image. Nice explanation about Gaussian/Dyadic Wavelet processing in Registax. I am not sure the Gaussian filter is at all optimal for noise removal; there are other, more modern tools (like anisotropic diffusion), so maybe these could be integrated as well

I had just about cleared all my work for today by 4pm and the Sun was shining after a rather average day until then so I got all the kit outside and connected up, just in time for the cloud to pile in No more Sun for me today. Hey ho. Perhaps tomorrow will be better.
