White light Sun, 22nd August

Well, it's been a beautifully sunny afternoon and I have been stuck inside trying to get my head around some bizarre client code specifications, but around 5pm I decided to kick it in the head for the day and got the kit set up just in time to grab enough subs for this image. The laptop was in shade before it had finished, but I just managed a full set by the skin of my teeth. I'm rather pleased I made the effort, too. It seems to have turned out quite nicely.

Very nice too ...

Been watching the clear lump out West all day on Sat24 with a mild accompaniment of teeth gnashing , been raining heavily here since 2am ...

Just clearing an HEQ5Pro sized path to the front door as there's a slim chance of a bright bit before close of play , means setting up out front as I'll probably lose sight from the usual position.

Fingers crossed and hoping ... :p

Judging by sat24 Wales and the south west seem to have been very much favoured today. It might even have been sunny in Cheshire. I wonder if Alexandra sneaked out of work early? :D

I'm hoping to get out tonight myself, but there seems to be a large finger of cloud uncurling across Ireland at the moment and it's hard to see how that's not going to have a disagreement with the Met Office before the night is out.

A fabulous catch :)

Yes in Manchester it was clear blue sky all day :( back in Cheshire at teatime and it was cloudy as usual! scream!!!!

This weekend isn't looking to rosy on the forecast either, it doesn't help that every time I look it says something different?

Somewhat unbelievably for a bank holiday weekend the forecast here is looking quite promising. Plenty of time for things to change yet though, especially as we seem at the moment to be stuck under a band of cloud so dense that it feels like midwinter :(
